Dystopia : A Pandemic Virus  is a virtual dystopia to bring awareness how the world is destroyed by viruses caused by people.

Artist Statement

Simply Dystopia means “BAD PLACE.” When I think about a bad place, it quickly connects to our current situation. The current situation is a ‘BAD PLACE.’ During the quarantine due to the pandemic virus, people are disconnected. Every second people are dying or infected by the virus. Societies all over the world are panicking and affected in every part of their lives. However, ironically, the environment gets the benefits. It is reviving. Air pollution level goes down. When people do not come out, extinct animals return to nature and begin to reproduce.

These phenomena make us think a lot about what went wrong. People developed the world to live in a healthy and comfortable life. However, because of people, the environment was destroyed and eventually such people died by the environment in the name of a virus.

The world is dominated by humans, but the world is destroyed by viruses caused by people. This is my dystopia. I put a person’s face in the middle of the world to express that people are dominating (developing) and destroying this dystopia at the same time.
